New 8,000 square foot location will provide room for continued growth
April 21, 2016 [DETROIT] – LoVasco, a Detroit-based, family-owned consulting firm specializing in insurance, employee benefits and retirement services, today announced the company has relocated its headquarters and 20 employees to One Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. LoVasco’s new 8,000-square-foot office space is on the 15th floor of the Minoru Yamasaki-designed skyscraper with panoramic views of the Detroit River and Detroit’s Central Business and Technology District. The landmark building is owned and managed by Bedrock Detroit.
Founded in November 2013 by father-and-son team Gene and Michael LoVasco, the company quickly outgrew its office space in the Buhl Building at 535 Griswold Street. The new, larger location provides room for continued growth and expansion.
“Our rapid growth can be attributed to the support of our clients, the Detroit business community and our team of talented and dedicated professionals,” said Michael LoVasco, the company’s Executive Vice President. “Keeping our headquarters downtown was an easy decision given the close proximity to our clients. Bedrock provided us with an opportunity to design a work environment at One Woodard that fosters collaboration and creativity for our growing team. This is an exciting time for our company, and we are thrilled to expand our business in what has become a leading destination for entrepreneurs.”
The 29-story One Woodward building, built in 1962, was the first skyscraper designed by Yamasaki, best known as the architect of the World Trade Center in New York City. The mid-century modern building is located at the gateway to Woodward Avenue at Jefferson Avenue, across from Hart Plaza, Detroit’s riverfront park. LoVasco is connected to Rocket Fiber, Detroit’s lightning-fast high-speed internet provider. One Woodward is 100% occupied.
“We are thrilled to provide prime downtown office space for growing companies like LoVasco who see the tremendous opportunity to expand and grow in the urban core,” said Dan Mullen, Executive Vice President of Bedrock Detroit. “Downtown Detroit is an inspiring, collaborative business environment for innovative companies across the board. LoVasco is a perfect fit and we are excited to welcome them to One Woodward.”
In addition to LoVasco, other signature tenants at One Woodward include Fifth Third Bank, Quicken Loans, Heritage Vision Plans, Inc., Fontinalis Partners, Dr. Robert DiPilla, QStride, Cambridge Consulting Group, The Siegfried Group, PMA Consultants, the Detroit Regional Chamber, FraserTrebilcock and Kitch Attorneys & Counselors.
The future route of the QLINE, formerly known as the M-1 RAIL, runs directly in front of the building, which is a short walk to numerous restaurants and retailers including: Townhouse, Central Kitchen + Bar, Dime Store, DROUGHT, Bon Bon Bon, Escape the Room, John Varvatos, Wright & Company, Moosejaw, House of Pure Vin, Detroit Water Ice Factory, and more.
