The premier live marketing agency, founded in Detroit in 1931, is moving back downtown after 50 years
May 19, 2016 [DETROIT] – Gail & Rice, Inc., a longtime Detroit-area live marketing agency headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, is expanding its footprint and adding a new office in downtown Detroit’s Chrysler House. Gail & Rice’s newest location marks a return to the company’s roots that trace back to 1931. The company’s original location was the Penobscot Building.
“It’s exciting to be part of Detroit’s ongoing resurgence,” said company owner Tim Rice. “Many of the businesses, organizations and non-profits we work with every day are located downtown. The proximity of our new office will help us to continue to deliver the exceptional, personalized customer service our clients deserve as well as make an exciting work environment for our employees.”
This year marks Gail & Rice’s 85th anniversary. The company was originally founded as an entertainment-booking agency and has continually grown and evolved over its years in the Detroit area. Today, Gail & Rice is one of the country’s premier live marketing agencies. The firm specializes in PR and media events, corporate communications, live events and entertainment that connect consumers with brands and engage and motivate audiences to action.
Gail & Rice’s portfolio of clients includes global automotive, technology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial institutions and telecommunications companies – as well as local area businesses, organizations and philanthropic groups.
“Coming back to their roots and returning to the place where they were founded is a perfect way for Gail & Rice to celebrate 85 years of business in the metro area, we are excited to welcome them back to downtown Detroit,” said Dan Mullen, Bedrock’s Executive Vice President. “Creative companies are essential to a thriving downtown environment and Detroit’s vibrant urban core is the perfect backdrop for the Gail & Rice team to innovate, collaborate and get inspired.”
Originally built in the early 1900’s to house Dime Savings Bank, Chrysler House was renamed in 2011 when the automaker moved into the building. In addition to Gail & Rice, other signature tenants include Chrysler Group, Quicken Loans, dPOP!, Dime Store Restaurant, Bon Bon Bon, DROUGHT Juice, and Mike’s Kabob Grille.
“There’s a special vitality to downtown Detroit’s business scene,” adds Rice. “You have a mix of well-known area businesses that are moving back into the city and expanding their operations side-by-side with new start-ups. Together, they’re creating an incredible sense of energy, creativity and innovation. Those qualities are a natural fit for our organization and culture. As part of the greater Detroit business community for 85 years, we couldn’t be more excited about returning to the dynamic downtown business landscape.”
