Accounting and Business Advisory Firm, Plante Moran, Doubles Office Space and Workforce in Downtown Detroit

-Plante Moran will now occupy 30,000 square feet at One Campus Martius
-60 new Plante Moran staff members to move downtown by June 2016 pushing total workforce to 120 in Detroit location

January 27, 2016 [DETROIT] – One of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, Plante Moran, is significantly expanding its presence in downtown Detroit, doubling its office space and workforce at One Campus Martius (the former Compuware Building). The landmark building, owned by Bedrock Real Estate Services and Meridian Health, is bordered by Woodward and Gratiot Avenues and Farmer and Monroe Streets in the heart of Detroit’s central business and technology district.

Plante Moran will increase its space by 13,000 square feet, bringing its total office space to 30,000 square feet on the third floor of the building. The firm will move approximately 60 new staff into the expanded office space by June 2016, bringing Plante Moran’s downtown Detroit workforce to 120 team members. One Campus Martius is now 100 percent occupied.

Plante Moran first opened an office at One Campus Martius in 2013 as part of its growth strategy and desire to help shape the future of Detroit’s urban core. The firm’s downtown Detroit location features open, collaborative workspace and the latest technology, overlooking Woodward Avenue’s shopping, dining and business district along the future route of the M-1 RAIL. Construction of Plante Moran’s expanded office space will begin this spring.

Since 2010, One Campus Martius has been home to Quicken Loans and its family of companies housing a portion of its 15,000-plus team members working in the city’s urban core. Bedrock and Meridian Health acquired the 15-story, one million square-foot building in December 2014.

The iconic high-rise overlooks Campus Martius Park, a two and a half acre public park and year-round entertainment venue which features a popular ice skating rink and other seasonal activities. The building houses several restaurants including Hard Rock Café, Texas de Brazil, Tim Horton’s, and Detroit Water Ice Factory, plus retail shops, a fitness center, and a daycare facility. In addition to Plante Moran, signature office tenants include Quicken Loans, Meridian Health, Compuware, Benzinga, and Bedrock Real Estate Services. The building is in close proximity to numerous other restaurants and retailers including: John Varvatos, Punch Bowl Social, Central Kitchen + Bar, Townhouse and more. In addition, international retailers Nike and Kit + Ace are expected to open within walking distance to One Campus Martius during 2016 along with Avalon International Breads.
